into something better once he or she keeps on doing it. This is also
true for cheaters in the game of poker.
For amateurs, they always start out being minimal skilled cheaters.
These minimal skilled cheaters doesn’t cheat with manipulation,
they cheat using only their sheer nerves. They act as if they are
very unprofessional about the game. They cheat through peeking
at the cards, shorting the pot and misleading the cards. Another
way for amateurs to cheat is by marking the cards. These cheaters
put some markers for them to be reminded what that card is.
Another method of cheating is the moderate skilled method. This
method includes the use of mechanical devices. The mechanical device
helps them conceal some other card and eventually use or switch
the other card when needed.
The final method of cheating is the most evolved of the 3 methodologies.
The third methodology is called the skilled methodology. Skilled
cheaters are able to find the cards they need whether it be from
the middle, the bottom or the top. They “cull” or find
the cards then he false deals it to him or to his confidantes.
An example of an excellent culling player is when it would be the
cheater’s turn to deal. In the previous showdown, there are
four sevens in different hands and he picks them all up. He then
puts the four sevens at the bottom of he deck and he false shuffles
it so that he will end up with the four 7’s.
There are many ways to figure out if he or she is doing this.
Avoid a person who does a mechanics grip. A person with a mechanics
grip holds the deck with his index finger in front. This kind of
hold helps the person to control the cards better. The finger also
provides cover, shows the back of the top card and the person does
not need to move the hand that holds the deck.
Also avoid situations were the shuffle is followed instantly by
a cut. When the halves of the card are cut, it will then be shuffled
in a way where the bottom half’s top card is then put on
the top half’s top. This process is a way to undo the shuffle.
The ultimate cheating strategy is called the cold deck. The cheater
has a previously stacked deck and he switches it with the one given
to him. The other players will have real betting hand and he has
the best one.
If you are a habitual cheater, cut it off now. It may help you
win games easier ad more money but is it really worth it to win
knowing that you cheated? Don’t let yourself evolve into
the granddaddy of all cheaters. Even the God of Gamblers will hate
you.
