One common way a player cheats is having marked cards. The cheater
will know the value of the card because of the alterations or have
prints in them. One way of marking the cards is by making marks

a printed card is by shading it and putting it in the sun. Another
way is by scratching the surface with a razor.
Another way of cheating with marked cards that is pretty obvious
to a frequent poker player is the “colored reading method”.
There are marked cards that can only be read using a special contact
lenses or filtered glasses. It is obvious because a red crescent
will be visible on the sclera when the contact lenses slip the
off-kilter on the pupil.
Juice is another way of marking the cards that helps the cheater
read the cards even across the table. It is a subtle way to avoid
detection but one still needs to be taught to read the juice patterns.
The best way to avoid being cheated out of marked decks is to
flip-flop through the decks. The difference will be apparent if
you flip flop through the decks. Some cheaters can mark the decks
while playing. He can bend or bulge the card so that he may be
able to read it even from afar. If this happens you can request
a new deck because it is stipulated in the rules.
Moderate cheating methods are mostly switching the cards with
the one they already have that is hidden. This is where most players

having the same card with another player.
