| If you’re
interested in playing poker against other players, you’re probably
wondering which type of poker game proves to be more profitable – online
or live poker?
The Art of Bluffing
If you’re playing a live poker game, it’s much more
difficult to bluff as people will be able to see your face clearly
and judge the expression accordingly. Therefore, even though you
want to try your bluffing way to a winning hand, this is hampered
by the fear that your opponents may call your bluff or the risk
of losing face when your bluff fails. When you do perfect the art
of bluffing however, it will prove to become an invaluable asset.
In online poker games however, bluffing is easier to accomplish
as your opponents are unable to see your face. There is a downside
to this, of course – if you find it easy to bluff online,
then naturally, it’s easy for them to bluff also. Hence,
even though you’re more able to bluff online, opponents also
similarly find it easier to challenge your bluff.
The key to online bluffing is simple – limit your bluffs
to a minimum. That way, when you do bluff, your opponents may not
be able to realize what you’re doing.
Finding the Perfect Table
When trying to find the best table in an online poker room, all
you need to do is check the statistics as this will readily tell
you which ones are populated by bad or inexperienced players
or calling stations, if you prefer. You can also try entering
tables with big average pot size as these are probably played
by maniacs.
Lastly, try looking for tables where at least 40% of the players
pay to see the flop. This indicates that most players in this particular
room or table are yet unaware of advance poker strategies. Take
advantage of this if you can. And another thing – if most
of the players are playing with small stacks, this is yet another
poker opportunity you shan’t want to miss.
On finding the perfect table when playing live poker, things may
become more complicated. If all players have good poker faces,
you’d then be hard put to identify which table is the best
one to join.
Attention Span Matters
In live poker games, the concentration of the poker players is
fully focused on the games. In online poker games, on the other
hand, most players are usually playing and completing other tasks
simultaneously so again, take advantage this if you can.
Ultimately, it’s best to practice poker in a live game as
you’ll learn more tips here but when you’ve got sufficient
experience, it may be more profitable to play online as the number
of bad players and your chances of winning are infinitely higher.
